Poem by Helen
To Dream
Mounting my Pegusus
Going
Being
Really Existing
Surmounting Heights seen, unseen
My Wings Wind
YOUR BELIEF IN ME
(I came to bring them life... FAR more life)

As I sit here in the tiny hamlet of Clinton, Oklahoma. You may ask yourself, "Who is Ted, and how did he know Helen?" In 1998, I started working for a company called Bowne Business Solutions in Los Angeles, Century City to be exact. I was outsourced to a investment consulting company called Bain & Co. I remember the day like ti was yesterday. July 28, 1998 was my first day at work and I met my co-worker and supervisor Helen Harris. Before a single word escaped her lips, I was stunned by her beauty. Later I would discover her true beauty radiated from within. It was a fast-paced environment, but we were a team of 4. Helen, Shannon, Danny and Ted. We had so much fun together, I can hear her laugh inside my head as I type this. For Christmas one year, I went to her apartment where she made me a Santa Clause suit to wear when we went to the inner city schools in Los Angeles. What a night that was, seeing her with mounds of red fabric on her floor and me as the apprehensive model. I soon moved to Houston with my company in the fall of 1999. Not too soon after, I learned of Helen's illness. We tried to keep in touch from time to time. In the world of many e-mail addresses, we got lost in the shuffle, but I always remembered her hotmail address "hav2clime@hotmail". Well, today is April 27, 2006, and I have always wondered where Helen was. If she was still in Texas, or did she return to California? Well, the news of her passing makes me numb inside. By chance, I typed her name in Google and found this blog. I will always remember her as a stong person of faith, someone that made my heart beat just a little bit faster whenever I was near her, and most importantly, someone who loved life. I was very touched by her drawing of the daisy, I am a graphics artist and would love to help in anyway I can with your memorial fund. Please contact me at tedhammond2006@yahoo.com.
Helen, I miss you dearly.
